Ms. Cristina Belaval has over 20 years’ experience in commercial litigation.  She has focused her practice during the past seven years exclusively in freight charge collections.

As the lead of our Collections department, her team has successfully recovered over $17 million for our clients, billing only a fraction of that amount. With an impressive average recovery rate of 73% of the disputed amount.   She possesses proven expertise and experience on collecting freight charges from multiple parties related to the transportation engagement, ensuring prompt and effective collections.

Prior to joining The Fuentes Firm, Ms. Belaval worked as a sole practitioner who specialized in lender liability litigation. In addition, she worked twelve years at Martinez Odell & Calabria in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where she left as a Partner.

Ms. Belaval graduated from the University of Houston Law Center in May 2017 with an LLM in Energy, Environmental, and Natural Resources. She obtained her J.D. at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico School of Law, Magna Cum Laude.   For her undergraduate degree, Ms. Belaval received a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Marketing from Boston College Carroll School of Management.
