Rini Mannankara
Attorney
Ms. Rini Mannankara is an attorney in our Houston Personal Injury Defense department.
Ms. Mannankara earned her Juris Doctor from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University, where she was recognized as a Dean’s Scholar and received the CALI Award in Insurance Law, an honor given to the highest-scoring student in the course. She demonstrated exceptional trial skills as the 2024 Flory Trial Competition Champion and honed her advocacy abilities as a member of the Board of Advocates. Her insurance law distinction and trial competition success speak directly to the skills she brings to personal injury defense work.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Mannankara gained hands-on litigation experience across a range of legal settings. She clerked at the Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corporation, where she assisted in trial preparation, drafted motions, and attended court hearings, experience that gives her a strong foundation in defense-side litigation. She also served as a Judicial Law Clerk for Judge William Jorden of the 19th Judicial District Court, where she drafted legal opinions and bench memoranda and attended trials. Additionally, her time at the Louisiana Department of Insurance, where she worked extensively with ERISA and drafted state-wide regulations, gives her a nuanced understanding of the insurance landscape that benefits our clients.
Ms. Mannankara earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Anthropology from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, where she was a Merit Scholar and Dean’s List honoree. Her trial experience, insurance law background, and litigation instincts make her a valued member of our team.
