Mr. David Helmey is a Partner with The Fuentes Firm, specializing in the defense of personal injury and wrongful death claims arising from commercial vehicle accidents. He represents trucking companies, fleet operators, and insurers in high-stakes litigation throughout Texas.

Mr. Helmey joined the firm as a Law Clerk in 2014 from The University of Houston Law Center and has spent his entire legal career developing deep expertise in the complexities of transportation defense.

Since 2022 alone, he has tried three cases to jury verdict, securing a zero-dollar defense verdict, a take-nothing judgment, and a verdict of less than 2% of the plaintiff’s demand. Before entering legal practice, Mr. Helmey earned his bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and spent years in the oil and gas industry as a landman and real estate title analyst — experience that brings a unique perspective to transportation defense.
